More than 300 entertainment industry executives, lawyers and Hollywood luminaries honored Harold A. Brown, Partner at Gang, Tyre, Ramer & Brown, Inc., as the Beverly Hills Bar Association’s (BHBA) 2017 Entertainment Lawyer of the Year at its annual Awards Dinner May 3, at Montage Beverly Hills.
Brown’s roster of A-list entertainment clients includes Steven Spielberg, Stephen King, Robert Zemeckis, Heidi Klum, Dwayne Johnson, Gwyneth Paltrow, George Miller and Michael Mann, most of whom roasted and toasted him in video tributes.
Also spotlighted in video tributes were Bill Gates; Gil Cates, Jr., executive director of the Geffen Theatre; Jeff Small, President and Co-CEO of Amblin Partners; Amblin Partners executive Kristie Macosko Krieger; producer Jeremy Kleiner of Plan B; producer Jack Rapke; David Linde, CEO of Participant Media; Melvin Oliver, President of Pitzer College; and Shahan Soghikian, Chairman of the Board of Pitzer College. Entertainer/Comedian Craig Ferguson narrated the video and also served as Master of Ceremonies for the Entertainment Lawyer of the Year Dinner, which benefits the BHBA’s education and community outreach programs.
The Entertainment Lawyer of the Year Award honors leaders in entertainment law for significant contributions to the profession. It has been presented annually since 1989 by the Beverly Hills Bar Association, which has the largest entertainment law section of any bar association in the world.
“Harold Brown is a highly respected attorney whose integrity, vision and innovative legal strategies have had a tremendous impact on the field of entertainment law,” said BHBA Entertainment Law Section Senior Chair Alexander Rufus-Isaacs. “The Beverly Hills Bar Association is proud to recognize him for his considerable professional accomplishments and tireless dedication to his clients.”
