A pedestrian’s leg was severed in a hit-and-run accident in the Mid-Wilshire area, a police officer said today.
The accident was reported at 10:31 p.m. on eastbound Beverly Boulevard just west of Normandie Avenue, said Officer Ed Griffin of the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Traffic Division.
The vehicle described as a 90s older model Toyota Corolla fled the scene.
A good Samaritan applied a tourniquet to the victim’s stump to prevent him from bleeding to death before paramedics arrived, a news videographer at the scene said.
