Beverly Hills Plans Major Apartment Development Near Civic Center

The site, currently holding 13 residential units, is slated for demolition to make way for the new development

A proposal to replace four small multifamily buildings with a six-story, 70-unit apartment complex near the Beverly Hills Civic Center was filed with city planners this month. The site at 416-418 N. Maple Drive, currently holding 13 residential units, is slated for demolition to make way for the new development.

The application, submitted by an entity linked to Lazer Properties, a local real estate firm, follows a pattern of growth in the vicinity. Urbanize LA reported that the project sits one block north of a proposed 12-story, 65-unit tower at 346 N. Maple Drive and near a city-owned site on 3rd Street planned for senior affordable housing.

City documents indicate the project, filed June 16, is still under review, with a preliminary housing application deemed incomplete on May 30. Other recent proposals in Beverly Hills include a seven-story, 60-unit building at 214-222 S. Arnaz Drive and an eight-story, 90-unit structure at 214-216 S. Hamilton Drive, reflecting a surge in multifamily housing plans.

The development aligns with broader efforts to increase housing density, though specifics on timelines and approvals remain pending.
