Sirens Will Sound as Part of Safety Program Checkup
Three-minute activation of Beverly Hills’ Outdoor Warning System will take place Tuesday, May 14, as part of efforts to strengthen public safety and emergency preparedness.
Scheduled to begin around 1 p.m., the system’s 12 sirens will sound simultaneously, ensuring that alerts are audible throughout the city’s residential and commercial neighborhoods. No action is needed from the public during this test, officials said.
Used during emergencies to signal immediate danger, the sirens are typically followed by multilingual voice messages with instructions, such as whether to evacuate, shelter in place, or take additional safety measures.
Regular tests are planned to confirm functionality and to help residents recognize the system’s warning signals. More details, including a map of siren locations and an overview of how the system operates, are available at beverlyhills.org/outdoorwarning.
