Celebrate LA’s Largest Pedestrian Plaza With Music, Activities, and a Ribbon-Cutting
Broxton Plaza, the largest pedestrian plaza in Los Angeles, will have its official grand opening on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025, with a celebration from noon to 5 p.m. in Westwood Village. Tickets are free and available on Eventbrite.
The new car-free community space is designed for outdoor dining, entertainment, and recreation, spanning 14,000 square feet as part of the Los Angeles City Transportation Department’s People St Program. The transformed section of Broxton Avenue features seating, games, and ongoing activations aimed at creating a lively public gathering spot.
The grand opening event will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony with speeches from local officials. The first 100 guests will receive a free boba drink, and visitors can enjoy a complimentary roller-skating area with free rentals and protective gear. Mighty Pilates will host a free mat Pilates class, and Metro Bike Share and other vendors will have informational booths.
Live entertainment will feature performances by the UCLA Marching Band and other student groups, as well as high-energy routines from UCLA Spirit Teams. Waymo will host a car expo with exclusive promotions, and guests can relax in two beer gardens while enjoying the festivities. A designated kids’ area will offer soft play equipment and crafts.
