On July 6, the Century City Chamber of Commerce welcomed the renovation of Mari – Intercontinental Los Angeles Century City’s signature restaurant, and the Copper Lounge – with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
The restaurant officially reopened on July 8 and is named after the hotel’s owner. Mari underwent a multi-year, multi-million dollar renovation, and the cuisine reflects Mari’s Japanese heritage and global travels, with influences that span from Italy, Peru, Indonesia and India.
At the ribbon cutting, Los Angeles City Councilmember Paul Koretz honored Mari with a commendation from the City of Los Angeles.
Also unveiled was the nearby Copper Lounge, inspired by the copper stills used to distill the world’s finest whiskies. Along with a slew of whiskey selections from around the world, patrons can also sip cocktails, craft beers and even smoke cigars in the outdoor courtyard.
“We are extremely proud to introduce Mari Los Angeles and Copper Lounge to hotel guests and local clientele after many years in the making,” said InterContinental Los Angeles at Beverly Hills Executive Chef Jonathan Wood in a statement. “Since Los Angeles is such a lauded culinary destination, we wanted to bring something new to the scene in both the design concept and menu offerings. We’ve done just that with these two distinct spaces each offering a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere and food that celebrates so many different cultures while taking advantage of all the great local offerings in and around California.”
Copper Lounge is open from 11 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. with a barista bar opening at 5 a.m. Mari is open daily for breakfast and lunch from 6:30 a.m. till 2 p.m. and dinner is served nightly from 5:30 – 10 p.m.
