The death of singer Simone Battle was ruled today “a suicide by hanging” by the coroner’s office.
The autopsy on the body of the 2011 finalist on the Fox singing competition “The X Factor” was conducted Sunday but the determination was released today, said Lt. Larry Dietz of the coroner’s office.
Battle, 25, was found dead Friday morning in her West Hollywood apartment, said Lt. W. Nash of the sheriff’s West Hollywood Station.
Following “The X Factor”, Battle joined G.R.L., the all-girl group formed by Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin.
Deputies were dispatched at 8:24 a.m. Friday on a “possible suicide’ call to the 9000 block of Dorrington Avenue, Nash said.
Nash said it was unknown where Battle’s body was found inside the apartment. But TMZ reported she was found hanging on a rod in the closet of her bedroom.
