Celebrate Broxton Plaza’s Grand Opening Weekend with Free Events and Spooky Films

New Car-Free Plaza Kicks Off with Live Music, Games, Halloween-Themed Activities

Broxton Plaza, Westwood Village’s new pedestrian-friendly plaza, is celebrating its soft opening this weekend, October 25-26, with a packed schedule of family-friendly events. Located on lower Broxton Avenue between Weyburn and Kinross Avenues, the plaza offers a car-free space for visitors to enjoy outdoor dining, events, and activities, bringing fresh energy to the heart of Westwood.

The celebration begins Friday with a lineup of live music, free coffee, sound baths, and even a Boba Happy Hour. On Saturday, activities continue with lawn games, craft stations, a mat pilates class, and a double-feature movie screening.

Event Highlights:

Friday, October 25

  • 11:00 a.m. – 3 p.m.: Free coffee with Boondocks Coffee Cart
  • Noon: Lunchtime Sound Bath
  • 1:00 p.m.: UCLA Herb Alpert Student Performance
  • 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.: Boba Happy Hour

Saturday, October 26

  • 11:00 a.m. – 3 p.m.: Free coffee with Boondocks Coffee Cart
  • 1:30 p.m.: Mat Pilates Class with Mighty Pilates
  • 4:00 p.m.: Lawn games, crafts, and trick-or-treating
  • 5:00 p.m.: Special performances by the Angeles Academy
  • 6:15 p.m.: Raffle with local business prizes
  • 6:30 p.m.: The Nightmare Before Christmas screening at Broxton Plaza
  • 10:30 p.m.: Ghostbusters screening at Landmark Theatre (ticket required)

Sunday, October 27

  • 1:00 p.m.: Live music by UCLA Herb Alpert students

Broxton Plaza is designed as a vibrant, pedestrian-oriented area that supports local businesses and enhances the neighborhood’s character. The plaza features tables, chairs, large planters, and weekly activities, transforming the street into a lively public space where residents and visitors can relax, dine, and connect.

  • Location: Broxton Plaza is located on Lower Broxton Avenue between Weyburn and Kinross Avenues.
  • Cost: All events are free.
  • Outside Food: Picnics are welcome, though alcohol is not permitted.
  • Pets: Leashed dogs are welcome.
  • Parking: Nearby paid parking is available, including two hours free at 1036 Broxton Ave before 5 p.m., or $5 after 5 p.m.
