The California Highway Patrol will have all available officers on the streets over the Labor Day Weekend, on the lookout for motorists driving drunk or otherwise violating traffic laws.
The Maximum Enforcement Period will begin at 6:01 p.m. and will extend through 11:59 p.m. Monday according to the CHP.
“Too many lives are lost on our roadways every year as a result of impaired driving,” CHP Commissioner Joe Farrow said.
“Let’s end the summer safely and remember to designate a sober driver, wear your seat belt, and obey all traffic laws,” Farrow said. “If you see a suspected impaired driver, call 911.”
