Songwriter-rapper Chris Brown was released from jail on June 2 after serving 24 of the 131 days to which he was sentenced on May 9, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s inmate records show.

The Sheriff’s Inmate Information Center indicates Brown was released from jail at 12:02 a.m. He served his time in the Men’s Central Jail, said Deputy Tony Moore of the Sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau.

On May 9, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge sentenced Brown to 365 days in jail for violating his probation for the 2009 assault on singer Rihanna.

He had pled guilty to the assault on his then-girlfriend. The judge gave Brown credit for 234 days of time served, leaving 131 days.

Brown’s release this morning came 24 days after that hearing.

“He was released. That’s all I know,” said Deputy Don Walker when asked whether Brown’s early release was due to good behavior, overcrowding or other factors.

The probation violation involved Brown’s arrest in Washington, D.C., for allegedly punching a man who was trying to get a photo with him. A trial on that charge was delayed.

Brown’s arrest in March came after he was tossed out of a Malibu substance abuse and anger-management facility for remarks made during a group therapy session about his use of guns and knives.

The terms of Brown’s probation through January 2015 include random drug testing at least three times a week, psychiatric counseling and outpatient therapy twice weekly and the completion of 1,000 hours of community labor ordered last August, according to E entertainment news.
