Meryl Streep is always an awards-season favorite. But at the Kids Choice Awards?

The Oscar-winning actress landed her first nomination for the annual green-slime-fest produced by Nickelodeon, earning a nod for best villain for her role in “Into the Woods.”

She will have some big-name competition in the category, which also includes Angelina Jolie (“Maleficent”), Cameron Diaz (“Annie”), Donald Sutherland (“The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1), Jamie Foxx (“The Amazing Spider-Man 2) and Lee Pace, (“Guardians of the Galaxy”).

“The Amazing Spider-Man 2” and “X-Men: Days of Futre Past” each scored five nominations in the film categories. Ariana Grande and Iggy Azalea led the music categories with three nods each.

Online voting for the awards began today on www.Nick.com, as well as on the Nick mobile phone app.

The awards will be presented March 28 at the Forum in Inglewood, with singer/actor Nick Jonas serving as host. The show is typically marked with green slime being gratuitously sprayed on presenters, award winners and the audience alike.
