Costume Designers Guild Awards to be presented in Beverly Hills

“Boyhood,” “Birdman,” “Interstellar” and “Inherent Vice” are among the films nominated for the 17th Costume Designers Guild Awards, which will be presented tonight, while television shows such as “Game of Thrones,” “Mad Men” and “Scandal” also have nods.

Costume designers from “Boyhood” and “Birdman” will compete in the contemporary film category with designers from “Gone Girl,” “Interstellar” and “Wild.”

For period films, nominees are costume designers for “The Grand Budapest Hotel,” “The Imitation Game,” “Inherent Vice,” “Selma” and “The Theory of Everything.” Costume designers for “Guardians of the Galaxy,” “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies,” “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1,” “Into the Woods” and “Maleficent” are nominated in the fantasy film category.

On the small screen, nominees are “House of Cards,” “Ray Donovan,” “Saturday Night Live,” “Scandal” and “True Detective” for contemporary series, while “Boardwalk Empire,” “Game of Thrones,” “The Knick,” “Mad Men” and “Masters of Sex” are nominated in the period/fantasy category.

The awards will be presented at the Beverly Hilton.

“Boyhood” director Richard Linklater will receive the guild’s Distinguished Collaborator Award for his support of costume design. A career achievement award will be presented to Aggie Guerard Rodgers, while the 2015 Edith Head Award for the Advancement of the Art of Costume Design will be bestowed on Deborah Nadoolman Landis.
