Popular Food Hall Will Shutter Nov. 2, Rooftop Bar Bohemien Will Remain
Citizen Public Market, a popular food hall in the heart of Culver City, announced it will close permanently on Sunday, November 2, 2025, ending a five-year run as a local dining destination.
The announcement was made this week in an Instagram post, in which the market thanked its vendors, staff, and loyal patrons for their support since opening in 2020.
“Since opening in 2020, we’ve proudly been home to cuisines both familiar and unexpected, celebrated countless milestones, and built a community we love in the heart of Culver City,” the post read. “Thank you to each and every one of our vendors, our dedicated team, and our wonderful guests; none of this would have been possible without you.”
The market encouraged diners to visit during its final weeks for a last meal before the closure.
While the food hall will shut down, Rooftop Bar Bohemien, which operates above the market, will remain open and continue hosting private events. Organizers assured customers that any events scheduled after October will still take place as planned.
Go-Go Bird, one of the most popular and longest-running stands at the market, said in their Instagram post, “Citizen Public Market is closing its doors on 11/2. It’s been a joy to work alongside amazing vendors and to serve so many guests. Thank you!!
To our team, thank you for your loyalty, hard work, and for always putting out damn good food. Come on by before we wind down! Our Riverside location will be opening soon, and we’re looking for a new home in LA, so DM if you’ve got a good spot.”
Go-Go Bird, the brainchild of Chef Brandon Kida that serves delicious fried chicken, Japanese-style biscuits, and epic sandwiches, is one of the market’s most beloved restaurants and was recently named one of the best restaurants in Culver City by The Infatuation.
Citizen Public Market opened during the pandemic in 2020, bringing together a mix of restaurants and vendors under one roof and quickly becoming a gathering place for locals and visitors.
