In the last few years, swiping away at dating apps has become a common activity. But progressing from a “match” to a real date has proved difficult for users across the board.
Watching the connection made between people over food, brothers Mitch and Avi Kahan, who hail from a real estate and hospitality background, decided to create the location-based dating app InviteUp. The basic idea is to facilitate a meeting over food.
The Kahan brothers combined their understanding of the importance of a date’s location with real-life experience in the online dating world. Mitch has seen that the success of a date can be highly dependent on its location.
Using Foursquare APIs to incorporate date locations, InviteUp offers users a new way to date online in real life. Users “post-up” their favorite places; those who share the same appreciation for a venue can then follow through and try and get a date. For more information, go to: InviteUp.com.
