A dental technician is suing her former boss, alleging the dentist fired her because she reported to police that actor Charlie Sheen attacked her verbally and physically during an office visit and did not protect her from the alleged assault.
Magarita Palestino filed the lawsuit against George Bogen, alleging wrongful termination, retaliation and sexual harassment. She’s seeking unspecified damages.
A woman who answered the phone at Bogen’s Los Angeles office said all questions would have to be posed to the dentist directly, but that he was not in the office and that she did not know when he would return.
Palestino previously sued Sheen over the encounter. That suit, filed last October, is pending.
According to the latest suit, Sheen and his bodyguard went to Bogen’s office on Sept. 25, 2014. During the visit, Palestino assisted Bogen in the examination room, according to her court papers.
She claims Sheen yelled incoherently at her, grabbed her left breast area and pulled at her scrubs. He also pulled her bra strap in an attempt to remove the bra, her lawsuit alleges.
After Palestino broke free from Sheen’s grasp he yelled, “I’m going to kill you!,” according to the complaint, which alleges that Palestino fled for her safety but was ordered back into the room by Bogen.
The dentist put an anesthetic in Sheen’s mouth, but the actor pulled it out, bolted from the chair and punched Palestino in the chest, the suit alleges.
Palestino ran out of the room again and Bogen once more told her to come back, but she refused, according to her court papers.
Before leaving the office, Sheen’s personal assistant handed Palestino $500 in cash and said, “This is for your troubles,” the suit states.
Bogen later told Palestino that Sheen was high on crack cocaine, a painkiller and alcohol and “demanded that plaintiff deny that the attack happened or lose her job,” the suit alleges.
Palestino filed a police report against Sheen on Sept. 26, 2014, and was fired three days later, according to her court papers.
