Our own Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel was the venue for the 39th annual Dinner of Champions on Sept. 4, which raised funds for MS Research and Programs. This year Pam Kehaly, President of Anthem, was honored in recognition of her and Anthem Blue Cross’ support, helping the MS Society move closer toward a world free of multiple sclerosis. Rep. Henry and Janet Waxman were also honored with the Spirit of Life Award. Previous honorees include Amy Pascal, Bob and Harvey Weinstein, and Annette Funicello, amongst others.

Country singer Julie Roberts and actor/comedian Anthony Griffith, who both live with MS, performed at the dinner. Radio personality Jillian Escoto served as master of ceremonies.

Did you know that MS affects more than 2.3 million worldwide? Since the Dinner of Champions is the most successful event held by any chapter of the National MS Society, we hope they reach their goal to eradicate this disabling disease.

Meanwhile, trendy Fig & Olive on Melrose Place opened its doors to host Doris Berman’s Style Lounge, honoring the 66th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.

More than 100 of Hollywood’s finest presenters, stylists, industry VIPS, and former Emmy winners were on hand at the fashionable event, which was hosted by MD Sun Skin Care, and presented by Gerard Cosmetics and Whitening Lightning.

Among the Emmy Nominees were Kate Burton of “Scandal”, Jon Voight of “Ray Donovan”, Joey King of Emmy-winning miniseries “Fargo”, and R.J. Mitte, of the Emmy-winning series “Breaking Bad”.

In the spirit of giving back, guests and sponsors donated unwrapped gifts to “Wednesday’s Child”, a weekly segment airing on Fox 11 News with anchor Christine Devine.

Gifts and services were provided by Radar Watches, Perch Jewelry, Spongelle, Lee Cosmetics, and Bling It Hat Designs, to name a few. Brava to Bergman for glamorous guests, gorgeous gifts, and generosity to foster children.
