A man and woman were stabbed today in Jefferson Park in an apparent incident of domestic violence, police said.
Officers went just before 1 a.m. to a residence in the 2700 block of West 30th Street in response to a report of two people suffering from stab wounds, said Sgt. V. Salguero, the watch commander at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Southwest Division.
He said officers had a hard time gathering information about the incident due to a language barrier — the couple spoke Spanish — but from what they were able to understand, the man stabbed his girlfriend with a knife, then stabbed himself in the neck.
The two were taken to hospitals. Their conditions were not immediately reported.
