Dreamscape Immersive will open a flagship location at the Westfield Century City mall in the first quarter of 2018. Some of the company’s six new locations will be free standing and some will be in AMC theaters. Dreamscape completed a series A funding round in January with investors including Warner Bros., 21st Century Fox Inc., Imax, Steven Spielberg, MGM Holdings Inc., Westfield Corp. and Bold Capital.
Bruce Vaughn, who used to lead Walt Disney Co.’s Imagineering creative division, is Dreamscape’s chief executive officer. The company said former Disney executive Tom Staggs, former Warner Bros. executive Dan Fellman and composer Hans Zimmer are among its advisers.
