Donut shop to open in former Qwench Juice Shop
By Dolores Quintana
A new Dunkin’ Donuts location is set to come to Westwood Village at 1001 Gayley which was formerly the location of Qwench Juice Shop. It is exciting news that the Westwood area would get its own branch of the beloved Boston house of donuts and coffee. While Dunkin’ Donuts hasn’t responded to requests for comment, we did speak with Andrew Thomas, Executive Director of The Westwood Village Improvement Association about the new Westwood Village Dunkin’ on the horizon.
Is this the first time that a Dunkin’ Donuts has opened in Westwood?
Andrew Thomas: I believe this is the first time a Dunkin’ Donuts has opened in Westwood Village. The location had previously been a Qwench Juice Bar and before that a Coffee Bean for many years.
What do you think Dunkin’ Donuts will bring to the community?
I think Dunkin’ Donuts has a tremendous chance at lasting success in our community. The location is by UCLA student housing and I believe thousands of students walk by this intersection every day. There will be no shortage of pedestrian traffic in close proximity to the store. Regarding what Dunkin’ Donuts can bring to our community, I hope they find economic success in our district, become a beloved business frequented by our stakeholders and visitors, and then give back by being a great neighbor and partner in our community. There are many partnership opportunities for our businesses and we at the WVIA are looking forward to their opening and to working with Dunkin’ Donuts to make sure everyone in our district knows they are open and ready to serve.
