Elon Musk and Grimes House Hunt in Bel-Air for Property Amid Reports of “Family Compound”

Billionaire and His Former Partner Are Reportedly Searching for a Los Angeles Mansion

Billionaire Elon Musk and his former partner, Canadian musician Grimes, are reportedly looking for a mansion in Los Angeles’ Bel-Air neighborhood, aiming to find a property that could accommodate Musk’s 11 children and their mothers, according to Realtor.com.

Despite previously declaring his intentions to leave California and his claims that he would no longer own a home, Musk, 53, appears to be considering buying a home in Los Angeles. The news comes shortly after reports suggested that Musk had purchased a $35 million “compound” in Austin, Texas. The alleged intention for the creation of a “family compound” is for Musk to be able to “schedule time” with the children.

The two are allegedly searching for a property that Musk can share with the mothers and children of his recent relationships. It is of note that one of his adult children from his first marriage, Vivian Jenna Wilson, changed her name after Musk made derogatory remarks about trans women and now refuses to have anything further to do with her birth father. She has also announced she plans to leave the United States after Donald Trump’s election.

An unnamed source told People that Musk and Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, recently toured properties in the exclusive Bel-Air neighborhood. While they are not currently in a relationship, the source said the pair were “house hunting” together, reportedly to provide a shared home. Grimes, 36, also reportedly viewed another property in Upper Bel-Air for unknown reasons.

Musk and Grimes have three children from their relationship: son X Æ A-12, daughter Exa Dark Sideræl, and son Techno Mechanicus. Musk has six children with his first wife, author Justine Wilson. He also has fathered three children with Shivon Zilis, an executive at his company Neuralink. Zilis reportedly became pregnant around the same time that Grimes was expecting her and Musk’s third child.

Musk, who is worth approximately $270 billion, according to Forbes, has been vocal about his concern over declining birth rates in the U.S. In a 2022 post on Twitter, Musk claimed that a collapsing birth rate is the biggest danger civilization faces by far.

Earlier this year, Grimes made headlines amid a custody dispute that involved her mother, who publicly pleaded with Musk to allow their son X Æ A-12 to visit his ailing maternal grandmother who was reportedly on her deathbed while Musk took the child to The Olympics. Grimes accused Musk of withholding X Æ A-12 and took the magnate to court in Austin. It seems that the relations between the two have improved.
