Citing irreconcilable differences with its landlord, the Kate Mantilini restaurant on Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills announced May 13 on its Facebook page it will close its doors on June 14.
“After 27 years of Kate Mantilini in Beverly Hills, feeding you all, your children, your parents, your grandparents, your weddings, engagements, business ventures, successes and otherwise, we are closing our doors on June 14. We were not able to come to terms with our landlord and this has left us with no choice but to close,” the restaurant announced on its Facebook fan page.
The Kate Mantilini restaurant in Woodland Hills, which came online in 2003, will remain open, it was also announced.
Located at the corner of Wilshire and Doheny boulevards in the heart of Beverly Hills’ commercial center, Kate Mantilini opened its doors in 1987. Harry and Marilyn Lewis, who had owned Hamburger Hamlet, founded the popular upscale eatery serving Southern California cuisine.
Harry Lewis acted in films such as Key Largo in the 1940s.
Kate Mantilini was also featured in films such as Heat.
The restaurant is at 9101 Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills and will operate at its normal hours until closing time about a month from now.
