A 29-year-old female former math teacher pleaded guilty to three felony underage sex counts and was sentenced to more than four years behind bars, according to court records obtained today.
Melissa Nicole Lindgren of La Mirada, who taught at Nicholas Junior High School in Fullerton, pleaded guilty Friday to three counts of lewd acts on a child age 14 or 15, according to court records. Four counts of lewd acts on a child 14 or 15 years old and three counts of distributing pornography to a minor, all felonies, were dismissed. She was sentenced to four years and four months in jail.
When Lindgren was charged last year, she was accused of molesting three boys, 13 to 15 years old, at the junior high school, according to Deputy District Attorney Cynthia Nichols, who handed the case over later to Deputy District Attorney Rebecca Reed. Reed did not immediately respond to a message left after hours.
Lindgren was accused of sending sexually charged text and phone messages to the boys during the 2012-13 and 2013-14 school years, Nichols said.
Lindgren was charged with molesting two boys on campus and a third victim off-campus in a car, Nichols said.
Lindgren, who is out of custody on bail, was ordered to surrender herself to authorities to begin her jail sentence Dec. 4, according to court records.
