Former NFL receiver Titus Young has been arrested on suspicion of being involved in a fight with another man that caused serious injury.
Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 12000 block of South Wilmington Boulevard in Watts at 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, according to Deputy Trina Schrader.
He is charged with battery with serious bodily injury, according to multiple media reports.
He also faces four misdemeanor charges in connection with the same incident.
Young is in the sheriff’s Inmate Reception Center on $105,000 bail.
His arrest last week came one day before he was to appear in court in Newport Beach, where he faces felony burglary and assault charges stemming from an incident last year.
He was arrested in 2013 under suspicion of breaking into a home in San Clemente and was charged with burglary, resisting arrest and battery on a police officer.
Young, 24, was selected by the Detroit Lions in the second round of the 2011 draft. He caught 81 passes for 990 yards and 10 touchdowns in 26 games over two seasons. He last played in the NFL in 2012 and was passed by the Lions and the St. Louis Rams in 2013.
Young played for University High School in Los Angeles and went on to Boise State in 2007.
