Julian Alaphilippe of France holds a two-second lead over Peter Sagan of Slovakia heading into Sunday’s final stage of the Amgen Tour of California, which will take cyclists from downtown Los Angeles to the Rose Bowl.

The 65.4-mile stage will start at 9:15 a.m. on Chick Hearn Court, between Staples Center and L.A. Live. The field will then race five laps on a five-mile circuit that heads north to City Hall and passes the Biltmore Hotel, Pershing Square, the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels and the Music Center.

Following the five laps on the circuit, the cyclists will head north on Spring Street to Pasadena Avenue, taking them through Chinatown, Lincoln Heights, Cypress Park, Mount Washington, Montecito Heights, Highland Park and Eagle Rock.

The field will enter Pasadena on Colorado Boulevard, crossing the Colorado Street Bridge to the Arroyo Seco. The riders will race nearly one 3.1- mile circuit of the Rose Bowl before reaching the finish line on West Drive, where they will have to complete seven laps of the circuit to finish the stage.

The stage is expected to conclude at 11:45 a.m. A finish line festival will be held from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Cable’s NBC Sports Network will begin two hours of live coverage at 10 a.m.

Alaphilippe began today’s 80-mile stage from Ontario to Mount Baldy in third place, 45 seconds behind Sagan. Alaphilippe won the stage in three hours, 42 minutes 13 seconds, while Sagan was sixth in 3:43.

The stage took the riders through Rancho Cucamonga, Upland, Mount Baldy, the Angeles National Forest, Azusa, Glendora and back to Mount Baldy Village.

The eight-stage, 724.1-mile race began Sunday in Sacramento.
