The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped three-tenths of a cent today to $4.129, its lowest amount since April 7.
The average price has dropped for nine consecutive days and is 2.7 cents less than one week ago and 8.9 cents lower than one month ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. However, it is 12.9 cents more than one year ago.
An eight-day streak of decreases to the Orange County average price ended today with an increase of one-tenth of a cent to $4.105. The average price dropped 3.9 cents over the previous eight days to its lowest amount since April 6.
The Orange County average price is 3.3 cents less than one week ago and 10.1 cents lower than one month ago but 13 cents more than one year ago.
“Continued wholesale drops have brought some relief at the pump for drivers,” said Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
“While gas in Southern California is near or at peak demand, at the moment,
there are no issues we’ve heard of at local refineries to disrupt supply.”
