Hands Up Hosts Awesome Shopping Event — Hands Down

Founder Tess Sager with Lauren BushShoppers enjoyed music courtesy of KCRW DJ Mario Cottowhile reviewing new pieces from the Hands Up Not Handouts collection such as the Yellow Brick Road sweet grass earrings from the women of Rwanda and the Limited Edition Widad cuff from the women of Palestine as seen on the Martha Stewart Show.

Guests were also treated to moving photographs from founder Tess Sager’s travels around the world. The images are available for purchase on www.handsupnothandouts.org with proceeds going back to the women of Palestine and Rwanda.

The support of Hands up Not Handouts, communities in Rwanda and Palestine have already received machinery, computers, bedding, eyeglasses, lamps and a new play yard through the sales of their accessories. The FEED Project has raised much needed funds for WFP school-feeding operations aSome of the tasty treats still available via www.handsupnothandouts.orgnd awareness of child hunger through the sales of their 100% cotton and burlap FEED bags.

With success of “A Night of Ethical Shopping,†this event series will continue its momentum with stops in Dubai, London and Paris.
