From June 26-July 1, the Israeli-American Council (IAC)’s Eitanim program will hold a first-of-its-kind hackathon for nearly 100 high school students from across the country, on the campus of the American Jewish University. The event is co-sponsored by AOL, DudaMobile, Netafim, and Israel’s Economic Mission, and mentors will include Amir Shevat, Director of Developer Relations at Slack; Iftach Wizel, co-founder of the Fox-Wizel retail group; and Gili Ovadia, consul at the Israeli Ministry of Economy.
It is the first nationwide event organized by IAC Eitanim, a project-based learning program that launched this year. Although only operational for a few months, IAC Eitanim has already established chapters in Boston, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New Jersey, New York, San Diego, Seattle, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C. It is part of the expansion making the IAC the fastest-growing Jewish organization in the country.
Please see attached release for more details.
The hackathon will conclude with a Demo Day on which students will present their products to the community, donors, and national innovation experts. The hackathon’s Demo Day will take place on June 30, from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, and will be open to the media. To attend, please RSVP to Meira Feinman at Meira@miller-ink.com.
