Singer Julia Gottlieb will perform her unique blend of vintage jazz and world music with some of L.A.’s top jazz musicians, guitarist Larry Koonse, bassist Kevin Axt, and drummer Ray Brinker at Vitello’s Jazz & Supper Club in Studio City, CA on May 11th, 2011 (the first set is at 8 p.m. and the second set will begin at 9:30 p.m.). Julia will wing selections from her upcoming CD, “Little Girl Blue” in addition to showcasing new material.
A consummate musician, Julia has the power to interpret classic jazz standards with fresh emotion and effortless delivery. Her voice is soothing and smoky, evoking chanteuses from eras past while simultaneously conjuring a new style all her own. Most recently, she’s ventured into the world of songwriting, penning her own material in an effort to explore more personal territory.
