Justin Bieber Off Of Formal Probation For Throwing Eggs At Then-Neighbor’s Home

Pop star Justin Bieber today came off formal probation for throwing eggs at a then-neighbor’s Calabasas home.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Andrea Thompson cited a good report from probation officers in making the decision to end formal probation and take the case off the court’s calendar.

The 21-year-old singer, who scored his first number one hit this fall with his comeback single “What Do You Mean?,” was not required to appear at today’s hearing and will no longer have to report to a probation officer.

Bieber, who has since sold his Calabasas home, attended anger management classes, completed 40 hours of community service and paid $90,000 in restitution to the neighbor under the terms of his two-year probation.

Bieber picked up garbage and painted walls for Volunteers of America, according to TMZ. The singer “had no problem getting his hands dirty,” Donny Gomez, who runs the nonprofit organization, wrote in the report to the judge.

The Jan. 9, 2014, egging — part of which was recorded on video — in the 25000 block of Prado Del Grandioso triggered a Jan. 14 raid on the home, in which Bieber’s pal Lil Za, whose real name is Xavier Smith, was arrested on suspicion of drug possession.

Smith subsequently pleaded no contest to possession of Ecstasy and a misdemeanor count of damaging a jail or prison for smashing a phone at the sheriff’s station in Malibu.

Bieber pleaded no contest to misdemeanor vandalism in July 2014. As part of the deal negotiated with prosecutors, the entertainer was ordered to stay away from ex-neighbor Jeffrey Schwartz and his family.

In March of this year, Schwartz sued the pop star for assault and emotional distress, alleging Bieber threatened his family and spat in his face and that one of Bieber’s bodyguards called him a “little Jew boy.”

The lawsuit alleges that the singer harassed the Schwartzes for nine months, culminating with Bieber leading his friends in the egg attack on their multimillion-dollar home.

Schwartz, a Web entrepreneur, alleges that Bieber terrorized their gated Calabasas community with drag racing, loud parties and vile verbal tirades.
