Knott’s Berry Farm visitor alleges sexual battery inside Scary Farm maze room

A visitor to Knott’s Berry Farm is suing the theme park alleging she was inappropriately touched and spoken to rudely in a maze room during last year’s Scary Farm event.

Wenjuan Luo filed the lawsuit Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court against Knott’s and its owners, Cedar Fair Management Inc. The suit alleges assault, sexual battery, negligence, intentional infliction of emotional distress and false imprisonment.

The suit seeks unspecified damages.

A Knott’s representative could not be immediately reached.

According to the complaint, Luo visited the park last Oct. 26. In the second room of a maze, she was confronted by a staff member standing in a pool of water who grabbed her right hand and banged it on a metal pole, according to the lawsuit.

He then pressed both of her hands against the pole, injuring one of her wrists, the suit states.

Luo’s right index finger was cut, the suit states.

The staff member then splashed water and yelled inappropriate language at the plaintiff, leaving her feeling “humiliated and shocked,” the suit states.

In the third room of the maze, another male employee wearing only a diaper pushed himself up against Luo and fondled her despite her pleas to stop, according to the lawsuit.

The employee also intertwined his fingers with Luo’s and asked, “Do you want to play?,” the suit states.

Luo, who began crying, eventually escaped the employee’s grasp with the help of another person who pulled the staff member away, the suit states.

Knott’s Scary Farm is a Halloween seasonal event held each fall that the Orange County theme park advertises as featuring “160 acres of horror.”
