The Twin Establishment Was Reported As Being Closed On August 8

Kung Fu Tea and TKK Fried Chicken have been collaborating as twin restaurants in the same space since 2018 in Flushing, Queens, one of New York City’s boroughs. TKK Fried Chicken was founded in Taiwan in 1974, and Kung Fu Tea was founded in Queens in 2010.
The story is on the TKK Fried Chicken website: “On November 30, 2018, TKK opened a joint restaurant with Kung Fu Tea in New York City’s Flatiron District to serve its fried chicken menu alongside Kung Fu Tea’s bubble tea selections.”
TKK Fried Chicken and Kung Fu Tea opened a joint venture in Westwood Village back in March of 2022 at 1136 Westwood Boulevard. Toddrickallen reported on August 8 that the business appeared to have been closed. However, when we checked the business’s Yelp page, they stated that the closure was temporary and that they would reopen on August 31. Both restaurants’ websites still list the Westwood Village location as active.
It would seem that the joint restaurant might not be quite down for the count yet. We will keep our eye on the situation, see what transpires, and seek comment from both restaurants. Stay tuned.
