LA Pride 2024 Announces George Takei, Cassandro, and Kristin Crowley as Grand Marshals

Celebrate “Power in Pride” with live broadcasts, a block party, and special events

This year’s LA Pride Parade will celebrate the theme of “Power in Pride” by honoring three distinguished individuals as Grand Marshals, recognized for their remarkable achievements and dedication to LGBTQ+ rights.

  • Icon Grand Marshal: George Takei, renowned actor and civil rights activist.
  • Legacy Grand Marshal: Cassandro, El Exótico, trailblazing lucha libre wrestler.
  • Community Grand Marshal: Kristin Crowley, LAFD’s first female and openly LGBTQ+ Chief.

The LA Pride Parade will be broadcast live from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. PST on ABC7/KABC-TV Los Angeles and streamed on Hulu. ABC News transportation correspondent Gio Benitez and ABC7 Eyewitness News anchor Ellen Leyva will host the event, bringing viewers all the action and color of LA Pride.

Join the LA Pride Block Party on Hollywood Blvd. from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event will feature:

  • Local vendors and nonprofits
  • Beer garden
  • Food trucks
  • Performance stage
  • Special Pickleball Exhibition Matches: Hosted by Joola and Pickleroll, Prime and Glamazon will present friendly Pride Pickleball matches.

To avoid parking issues and street closures, attendees are encouraged to use METRO, the Official Transit Partner of LA Pride. On Sunday, June 9, the Hollywood/Highland and Hollywood/Vine stations will be temporarily renamed Hollywood & PRIDE-land and Hollywood & PRIDE, respectively, with new signage and co-branding.

For just $3.50 round-trip, parade-goers can take Metro’s B and D Lines to the renamed stations. Metro also offers Park & Ride lots with parking at $3.00 per day, payable onsite.

For those driving, parking, and event access are available via Vine Street or Gower Street. For additional parking information, visit The Hollywood Partnership.
