LAFD’s Repopulation in Brentwood and West LA is Complete as Wildfire Evacuation Orders Ease

Residents in Brentwood, West LA Granted Reentry; Power Restoration Efforts Underway

Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) officials’ repopulation efforts are complete in Brentwood, West Los Angeles, and mountain areas between West Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley. All zones are now open for resident-only access, while others have been downgraded from warning zones to normal. On Mandeville Canyon road, homes past Chalon require a police escort.

As of Sunday, January 19, the Palisades Fire is now 56% contained, per CAL FIRE. On Sunday, LADWP crews reported that they have restored electric service to customers in the Brentwood, Encino, and Bel-Air areas previously without power to protect public safety. According to LADWP, crews worked through the night to make repairs and restore service to the remaining 1500 customers who could not be restored overnight Friday.

LADWP advised that any customer in the Brentwood, Encino, or Bel-Air neighborhoods without power should first reset their circuit breaker. If your power is still out, please report it by calling 1-800-DIAL-DWP (1-800-342-5397).
