Los Angeles firefighters were able to get a handle on a stubborn vegetation fire today burning in the Pacific Palisades.
It took 104 firefighters three hours and 28 minutes to put out the 2 1/2- acre fire reported at 100 N. Temescal Canyon Road, said Shawn Lenske of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Firefighters were dispatched to the scene at 2:59 a.m. and will continue the mop up effort this morning, Lenske said. No injuries were reported and there was no structure loss.

By 8 a.m., PCH had been reopened, with two of the three northbound lanes blocked by fire trucks.
The brushy area is a frequent site for homeless encampments, and warming fires are often seen there in colder weather, firefighters said.
