An 82-year-old Hollywood area man was reportedly murdered last week; the Los Angeles Police Dept. (LAPD) West Bureau has requested the public’s assistance in the murder investigation.
Officers from the LAPD Hollywood Area Patrol reportedly responded to a residence on the 1400 block of North Vista Street near the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and La Brea Avenue in Hollywood. The response was based upon a call made to the division Feb. 12 just after 7 p.m., an LAPD statement said.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers reportedly found the deceased body of Harry Major, who was declared dead on the scene by Los Angeles Fire Dept. rescue personnel.
Homicide detectives from the LAPD West Bureau began a death investigation.
Three days after Major was declared dead, the Los Angeles Coroner’s office determined Major’s death was the result of a homicide, according to the LAPD.
LAPD stated a motive has not yet been determined. No suspects are in custody as of Feb. 20.
