Local Singer Seeks to Create a Christmas Classic

It’s been 58 years since a new Christmas song became a classic (Elvis’s “Blue Christmas” was the last), but that might change after this year.

Marsha Bartenetti of Bel-Air has just released a CD of Christmas music. See her Dec. 10 at the Catalina Jazz Club.

Bel-Air resident Marsha Bartenetti recently released her Christmas CD, “Christmas…In The Spirit.”

A collection of nostalgic Christmas songs pulls together the traditional “Joy To The World” to the contemporary “Mary Did You Know?”  Bartenetti also debuts a new song by veteran songwriter Ken Hirsch, Rosie Casey and Steve Ross – “Almost Christmas Eve”.

Kenny Hirsch has co-written many hit songs for major artists including “I’ve Never Been To Me”, “If I Could” and “No One In The World”.  Bartenetti is the first artist to release his Christmas cut, “Almost Christmas Eve”.

Bartenetti brings her smooth, lush vocals to each selection. Bartenetti is a nationally recognized voice in the world of voice-overs, with credits ranging from television and radio (she is the former voice of Vons/Safeway).

She was also dubbed “the Voice Mail Queen” by the press because her voice was heard by millions as the official voice of many big companies’ automated answering services.

Bartenetti has now returned to her roots and first love – singing. Her tunes are available on iTunes, Amazon, and her website, www.marshabartenetti.com

Marsha will be performing her Christmas CD Release Show at Catalina Jazz Club on December 10th – 6725 Sunset Blvd. 90028 — Featuring Llew Matthews on Piano, John B. Williams on Bass, Sid Jacobs on Guitar, and Kenny Dennis on Drums.

Doors open at 7 p.m. Show starts at 8:30 p.m. Call 323-466-2210 for Reservations.
