Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra Adds Two To Board

Eugene OhrSanta Monica residents Marc Hayutin and Eugene Ohr have been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra (LACO) for three-year terms, announces LACO President K. Eugene Shutler.

Hayutin is head partner at Sidley Austin’s Los Angeles Real Estate Group and Co-Global Coordinator for the firm’s world-wide Real Estate Practice Area Team.

Ohr serves as a senior vice president and investment analyst at the Capital Group Companies. LACO, one of the nation’s leading orchestras, is renowned for its wide-ranging repertoire and adventurous commissioning initiatives.

Since 1997, LACO has performed under the baton of acclaimed conductor and pianist Jeffrey Kahane, hailed by critics as “visionary†and “a conductor of uncommon intellect, insight and musical integrity†with “undeniable charisma.â€

Hayutin’s practice has also involved negotiation and restructuring of numerous general and limited partnerships and limited liability companies. He has extensive experience in strategic counseling concerning significant real estate litigation matters, from inception through settlement or trial. Most recently, Hayutin has been recognized by Chambers USA, Legal 500 and The Best Lawyers in America as a leading real estate lawyer. Born in Denver, Colorado, Hayutin earned an undergraduate degree from Stanford University, spending his sophomore year in France. He attended Harvard Law School and moved to Los Angeles after graduation. He and wife, Stephanie, a psychotherapist, were among the co-founders of the Santa Monica Synagogue and both have served as its president.

Eugene Minsuk Ohr a senior vice president and investment analyst at the Capital Group Companies, holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is based in Los Angeles. He joined Capital in 1991 as a participant in the Associates Program and spent time in the Tokyo office between 1996 and 2001.

Ohr’s current research responsibilities include generalist coverage of Korea and Australia. An alumnus of Harvard University, his studies focused on American history. Born in Boston, Massachusetts and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, Ohr’s exposure to classical music was mainly through piano lessons from age six.

Ohr has served on several boards, including the Korean American Museum. He also sat on the finance committees of Westwood United Methodist Church and the First United Methodist Church of Santa Monica, where he currently holds the office of Vice President.
