A love triangle was believed to have led to the stabbing of a woman’s current and ex-boyfriends outside a Pasadena supermarket this morning, police said.
The incident happened about 12:30 a.m. outside the Ralphs supermarket at Lake Avenue and Walnut Street, said Pasadena police Sgt. Victor Alaniz.
A woman and her new boyfriend were confronted by her former boyfriend and a friend of his in the parking lot, Alaniz said.
First the former boyfriend and friend attacked the new boyfriend, then he turned on them and stabbed the former boyfriend in self-defense, the sergeant said.
All of the parties are believed in their 30s, he said.
Both the former and current boyfriends were taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening wounds, Alaniz said.
The former boyfriend and his friend were arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and robbery, he said.
At least three of the four people involved were homeless, Alaniz said
