Similar Incident Causes Chaos at Convenience Store One Mont Later
Anywhere between 30 to 50 masked teenagers stormed a 7-Eleven in Los Angeles on Friday night, ransacking the store and fleeing on bicycles, according to multiple news outlets. This newest incident comes after several 7-Eleven stores were swarmed by teens a month ago. The Pico Robertson store that was the site of this latest flash mob robbery had a similar incident on August 9.
The robbery occurred around 8 p.m. at the 7-Eleven located at Olympic and La Cienega Boulevards in the Pico-Robertson district. Early reports on social media had mistakenly identified the store as being in Beverly Hills. There are no 7-Eleven convenience stores located in Beverly Hills.
Clerks triggered a panic alarm during the commotion, alerting the Los Angeles Police Department. Footage from the store’s security cameras captured the chaotic scene, showing members of the group throwing the store’s merchandise and pushing over shelves.
The teenagers did not attempt to rob the store’s cash registers or safe, but stole snacks, drinks and cigarettes. The disorder caused by the teens forced the store’s employees to work late into the night cleaning up the store.
