One person was wounded today in a shooting in Mar Vista and the suspect was on the loose, police said.
The shooting happened about 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of Centinela Avenue and Washington Place when one male approached another and shots rang out, said Officer Jack Richter of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Section.
He had no information on the condition of the victim, who was taken from the shooting scene to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and was unable to confirm a broadcast report that the gunfire erupted at a Jack in the Box restaurant.
Police set up a perimeter in an effort to locate the suspect, Richter said.
