A slope-stabilization project that would have resulted in a temporary shifting of lanes on Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) in Malibu has been delayed, Caltrans announced on June 18.
The project along southbound PCH between Via Escondido and Sea Vista Drive near the Malibu Cove Colony had been scheduled to begin in early July, but the work has been postponed for two or three months, according to Caltrans.
In addition to stabilizing the slopes, the project will also repair cracks in the roadway.
When the $4.1 million project eventually begins, the highway lanes will be temporarily shifted, but no lanes will be restricted, according to Caltrans.
