A collision involving a pool cleaning truck resulted in a chemical spill on the 405 Freeway near Westwood this week.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), the two car collision was reported on Tuesday around 2:30 p.m. on the northbound 405 on ramp at Skirball Center Drive. One of the vehicles involved was a pool cleaning tuck, the LAFD reported.
In an incident report, LAFD spokesperson Margaret Stewart wrote that the crash resulted in a “30 gallon spill of acid and chlorine in powder form.”
An absorbent was placed across the spill and it did not produce any off gas, according to the LAFD.
At 3:28 p.m. the LAFD reported that a HazMat squad evaluated the chemicals and determined no hazard.
