RUNNERS HIT THE STREETS FOR THE BLIND CHILDRENS CENTER
LOS ANGELES, CA – On Monday, May 25, 2009, runners and walkers took on the streets of Los Angeles in the LA Marathon and 5K Run/Walk to benefit the Blind Childrens Center. Thirty volunteers came out to cheer on our fifteen athletes. While the athletes are still collecting donations, almost $1,700 has already been raised to benefit the Center. The Blind Childrens Center is an official charity of the LA Marathon.
The Blind Childrens Center is a non profit family-centered agency devoted to helping children, who are blind or visually impaired, have the best quality and most productive lives possible. The Center’s programs and services help the children, from infants through 1st grade, acquire skills and build their independence.
