The fatal stabbing of a pregnant mother in Venice was under investigation Tuesday.
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Pacific Division responded to 80 Windward Ave. at 9:30 p.m. Monday to a call reporting a fight and an assault with a deadly weapon, said LAPD Lt. J. Radtke.
Arriving officers saw the woman being held by witnesses. She was treated by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics before being taken to a hospital, where she died from her injuries, Radtke said.
The victim was identified as 24-year-old Jasmine Preciado by family members who told NBC4 she was three months pregnant and the mother of a 3-year- old girl.
Police are looking for two women and a man who left the scene traveling east on Windward Avenue in a dark SUV.
Anyone who saw the incident was urged to call investigators at LAPD’s West Bureau Homicide Division at (213) 382-9470.
