Producer George Zakk Asked to Provide More Details In Lawsuit Against Vin Diesel

A producer who sued Vin Diesel, alleging he is owned a $275,000 fee and a film credit for his work on a sequel to the movie “xXx,” will have to shore up some of the allegations in his complaint, a judge ruled today.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge John Doyle said plaintiff George Zakk needs to clarify issues and provide more details to support his claims for breach of contract and breach of implied-in-fact contract.

Doyle also said that Zakk’s punitive damages claim against Revolution Studios, the producers of “xXx,” had insufficient details. The judge gave Zakk’s lawyers 30 days to file an amended complaint.

According to the suit filed May 10, Zakk and Diesel started a business relationship in 1995 in which the plaintiff helped the “The Fast and the Furious” co-star pursue his acting and producing career. In 2001, they formed a production company called One Race Films, the suit states.

Zakk received a production fee of up to $275,000 for each film in which he assisted Diesel, including “xXx” in 2002, the suit states.

The two ended their business relationship in 2007, but Zakk was still entitled to fees and credits from future films that the plaintiff helped develop on behalf of Diesel while running One Race Films, according to the lawsuit.

Zakk was paid for his work in the 2013 film “Riddick,” but so far has not been compensated or received a film credit for his work on the “xXx” sequel, “xXx: The Return of Xander Cage,” which is now in production and stars Diesel and Samuel L. Jackson, according to the lawsuit.
