No Reason for the Evacuation Has Been Disclosed
Creative Artists Agency’s Century City offices were evacuated on Thursday afternoon, citing a security threat as reported by Variety. The nature of the threat remains unknown, but all employees were directed to vacate the premises at 2000 Avenue of the Stars in Los Angeles.
The evacuation notice issued by Creative Artists Agency urged employees to prioritize safety. It read, “CAA Global Safety & Security has confirmed that the Los Angeles CAA offices have received a security threat. Your safety is our top priority. While the threat is being investigated for its credibility, out of an abundance of caution, we are closing the Los Angeles offices. Please proceed home, and encourage those who are able to utilize the stairs to do so as there may be congestion with the elevators.” as quoted by Variety.
There have been other emergencies that have caused evacuations previously, like a suspicious package in 2015 and a gas leak in 2020.
Recent years have seen other talent agencies facing similar threats. In July 2022, UTA’s Beverly Hills headquarters were evacuated due to a perceived bomb threat. WME’s Los Angeles office experienced evacuation in 2018 following the discovery of a suspicious package.
CAA, led by co-chairmen Bryan Lourd, Kevin Huvane, and Richard Lovett, with Lourd also serving as CEO, is taking precautions amid the undisclosed security threat.
