The Latest from Westfield Century City.

Officials at Westfield Century City told Century City-Westwood News that the much-anticipated re-opening of the mall would take place “sometime in October.”

While the official opening date isn’t yet fixed, the two-year, billion dollar renovation promises to offer up more than 200 shops and restaurants and Westfield Century City has revealed what the new stores will be and which leases have been signed.

The new Westfield Century City – designed by Westfield’s own in-house studio in collaboration with L.A. based designer Kelly Wearstler – will encompass more than 1.3 million square feet of space, double its parking capacity, and eventually link to the LA Metro Purple Line subway.

Over the next few weeks, the following stores are set to open: Abercrombie & Fitch, Chan Luu, Current/Elliott, Equipment, J. Crew, Jo Malone London, Johnny Was, Joie, Kate Spade New York, Madewell, Rodd & Gunn, Seafolly, The Disney Store, Uno de 50, UNTUCKit, Urban Decay, and Zadig & Voltaire.

Upcoming food and restaurant openings include Biryani’s by Spice Affair, Chick-fil-A, Grom, Kafe Bougatsa, Lette Macarons, Panini Café, Pressed Juicery, Randy’s Donuts, Rori’s Artisanal Creamery and Wexler’s Deli.

In the meantime Westfield’s U.S. CEO William Hecht said, “We’re tremendously excited about the retailers and restaurants that continue to open as we prepare to unveil the new Westfield Century City this fall. Westfield Century City will be an urban oasis in the middle of Los Angeles, celebrating the best of the Southern California lifestyle and offering one of the most dynamic, curated offerings across fashion retail, dining, health, wellness, and entertainment.”

In addition to the stores, Westfield formally announced additional new lease signings for the property, including: Aesop, Ali & Jay, All Saints, Amazon Books, Breitling, Gerard Darel, Hugo Boss, John Hardy, John Varvatos, Journelle, lululemon, Old Navy, Peloton, Stitch & Trace, Vineyard Vines and Warby Parker.

Newly announced food and restaurant signings slated for future openings include: Saint Marc (pub, café, bakery, and cheese affinage), Tocaya Organica, Smitten Ice Cream, Tosai Sushi, Everytable, Aloha Poke Co., as well as the yet unnamed restaurant to be opened by renowned chef Jonathan Waxman (which was previously announced).

As part of Century City’s extensive health and wellness amenities, the world’s second, state-of-the-art Gloveworx boxing and athletic performance studio will also open on the property, and the center will also welcome a UCLA Health Clinic.

“Westfield Century City will be one of the best retail offerings on the West Coast,” said David Ruddick, Westfield’s EVP of leasing. “As consumer tastes and trends change in the industry, Westfield is keeping pace with a focus on careful curation and on introducing new concepts and influencer brands not available anywhere else.”
