It’s been said for a long time that water is therapeutic. On Wednesday, May 20th, disabled veterans will surf their agreement as the water allows them to escape their physical and mental ailments for a bit and give them more strength and confidence to battle them once back on land.
Todd Patterson will be there not only to help those veterans, but also for his own therapy. His water adventure started as he searched for ways to alleviate the after effects of the toxic chemical poisoning he experienced while serving in the Gulf War from 1990-1991 as a specialist with a mobile support detachment. Patterson tried various drug and physical therapies but found that while they helped the only place where he was pain free was in the water. And so, a business, Synergy Surf Inc was born, “I started Synergy with one goal in mind: develop and create the most environmentally responsible high performance surfboards on the market… PERIOD! No fluff…no bull…NO COMPROMISES!”
Synergy Surf Inc – www.synergysurfco.com – which Patterson runs with partners Greg Provance and Trevor Watkins aims to create the biggest hub for environmentally friendly surf equipment, accessories and fashion in the world. The young company has produced a number of prototypes and custom boards, utilizing the most advanced eco technology available without compromising the functionality of the boards. Synergy Surf’s customer is the surfer who wants to be environmentally responsible without compromising on quality or performance. After more than a year of research and development they have discovered a formula that yields a surfboard that is light, durable and incredibly high performance.
