The Geffen Playhouse Holds Its Annual Fundraiser Backstage At The Geffen

Last Weekend Talented Artists Performed To Raise Money For The Theater

The Geffen Playhouse held its annual fundraiser, Backstage At The Geffen, on Saturday, dazzling attendees with a star-studded evening filled with memorable performances and heartfelt tributes. The event, which took place at the iconic theater in Westwood, celebrated the achievements of esteemed artists and raised funds to support the theater’s future productions.

Among the distinguished honorees of the night were Emmy-winning actor, director, and choreographer Debbie Allen, who received the prestigious Distinction in Theater Award, and the multi-talented writer, director, and producer Greg Berlanti, who was honored with the Distinction in Service Award. Their outstanding contributions to the entertainment industry have left an indelible mark on the theater community.

Presenting the awards were Emmy-winning cinematographer John Simmons and “All-American” executive producer Nkechi Okoro Carroll, who added an extra touch of grandeur to the ceremony.

The event also featured surprise appearances by a lineup of renowned celebrity guests who shared captivating behind-the-scenes stories. Jay Leno, Mimi Rogers, Julia Sweeney, and David Kwong entertained the audience with their anecdotes, providing a glimpse into the fascinating world of show business.

This marked Bell’s third consecutive year hosting the Geffen Playhouse’s annual fundraiser, and his undeniable talent for entertaining was evident throughout the night.
