John Megery, a veteran advertising writer, has joined The Phelps Group a leading integrated marketing communications company located in Santa Monica.
Megery has an extensive advertising background, as both a copywriter and art director, serving a range of high-profile clients such as Volkswagen, Samsung Electronics and the California Milk Advisory Board. In addition, his work has garnered a number of industry accolades, including Belding and ANDY awards for his work with Mitsubishi Motors, Real California Cheese (the talking cows) and Burger King.
Megery earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of California at Santa Barbara, and a B.F.A. in advertising/art direction from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, Calif. He is an avid outdoorsman and mountain biker, motorcycle enthusiast, and devoted father to daughters Hannah (11) and Madeline (13). He will initially be serving the agency’s CapitalSource Bank, City of Hope and Public Storage accounts.
